Can is the Managing Director of Foton, the local I-REC(E) Issuer in Turkey. He started his career in corporate credits & internal audit positions in the banking industry, then worked as a power & gas trader in the energy industry. Foton has worked with Energy Web to develop a blockchain-based I-REC platform, which was implemented in 2021.

Jared Braslawsky is a leading expert on the use, implementation, and functionality of attribute tracking systems such as the United States REC, European Guarantee of Origin (GO), and the global International REC Standard. His expertise is used by organizations such as RE100 where he is a member of the Technical Working Group. He has participated in workshops, technical meetings, and informational webinars for RE100’s members (with over 200 corporate renewable electricity consumers). He was a key contributor to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHGP) Scope 2 Guidance document and supported the GHGP in organizing workshops to promote the guidance document when it was completed in 2015.

Jared has played a leading role in the development and growth of the Guarantee of Origin system in Europe through his role as Secretary-General of RECS International. Jared is also the Co-founder and Executive Director of the International REC Standard Foundation (I-REC Standard), a not-for-profit organization for energy attribute tracking standardization that enables the simplified implementation of reliable, traceable REC systems, and national renewable energy markets in adherence with electricity market regulations and best practices worldwide.

Oleg facilitates governments, renewable energy producers, and consumers across several regions in the development of voluntary markets and EAC standardization. He is actively involved in the global project development at the I-REC Standard Foundation secretariat. Oleg has a track record of market development in his previous role within environmental commodity trading.

Travis is responsible for the development of carbon removal and hydrogen mechanisms at Evident, ensuring robust registry systems and regulatory compliance to the I-REC Standard. His role in the product development team is to help diversify Evident's portfolio of Product Codes to track new environmental asset classes. This includes C-Capsule, an initiative Travis helped co-found to certify durable carbon removal. Travis holds a bachelor's degree in geography from University College London.

Yavuz Arkun started his career in Tandem Computers, Cupertio, in 1993 and after 1998 took on a number of corporate finance and business development positions in leading Turkish companies including Sabancı Holding, MarSA KJS, F&B Group, EHF, and Assan Foods. In 2010, he joined Assan Alüminyum and he is currently working as the Strategy and Marketing Director where his responsibilities include coordinating the sustainability efforts of the company. He serves also on the Board of Directors of European Coil Coating Association (ECCA).

Yavuz Arkun graduated as Diplom-Ingenieur in Mechanical Engineering from Vienna University of Technology in 1991 and received his MBA from UC Berkeley Haas School of Business in 1993.

Erdem Sezer is the Director of Sectoral Research at the Turkey Development Investment Bank. He specializes in market research for various sectors, with a focus on renewable energy. Before this role, he worked as the Manager of Analysis and Commercial Strategies at AKSA Enerji for four years, where he handled tasks related to energy analysis, pricing, and market entry strategies. Erdem Sezer holds a master's degree in Energy Finance from the University of Dundee and completed his education on global energy policies at the Vienna Diplomatic Academy in Austria.

Selen Karaca is an Environmental Engineer. Prior to her corporate career, she worked as a Research Assistant at Bogazici University, Institute of Environmental Sciences. During her PhD at Bogazici University, she took courses on Sustainability and Energy at the University of Oslo and worked as a visiting researcher at Technical University of Denmark (DTU) on Biomass Gasification at the Energy Engineering department.

Selen started working at IKEA in 2005 as Chemical & Environmental Specialist and a few years later she was appointed as Manager within the sustainability area. A role she has had for many years now in different organizational set ups within IKEA. As a Manager, she has been leading cross country teams and she has been working with numerous suppliers in over 30 countries. During her IKEA career, she has contributed to many global and regional projects on sustainability compliance and development. She has also contributed to the development of IKEA’s global guidelines such as the IKEA Supplier Code of Conduct as well as the IKEA Water and IKEA Energy Guidelines. On top of her responsibility as Sustainability Manager she was in 2020 given the additional assignment as Managing Director at IKEA Foreign Trade LTD. Co in Türkiye.

Mr. Edin Erkočević brings over 15 years experience in international business development consulting, trade promotion, international relations as well as international arbitration and corporate law. Mr. Erkočević is Trade & Invest Commissioner of Sweden in Turkey.

Mr. Erkočević began his career in 2007 at the Hellström Law Firm in Stockholm specializing in international arbitration and then moved on to a position as Second Secretary at the Permanent Delegation of Sweden to the OSCE.

Edin joined Business Sweden in 2010, based in the Vienna office. During his 9 years he was involved in business development and trade promotion project in many sectors, mainly life science, healthcare, ICT, environmental technologies and fintech, in Austria, Switzerland, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Serbia and Israel.

Mr. Erkočević was in February 2019 appointed as Trade & Invest Commissioner of Sweden in Turkey where he has launched several successful initiatives such as the Construction Summit and EPC Alliance as well as Swedish-Turkish Sustainable Mining platform that has grown into Nordic Sustainable Mining platform in cooperation with Finland.

Edin received his Master of Laws degree from University of Lund in Sweden with specialization in Law of International Relations from the University of Vienna in Austria. Edin speaks fluently Swedish, English, Bosnian (Croatian/Serbian), German and Spanish.

Wa’el Almazeedi is the Chief Executive Officer of Avance Labs. He acquired his energy and project financing experience working in the oil, gas, and electricity industries, multilateral development, private equity, and technology commercialization while stationed in (in alphabetic order): Boston, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuwait, London, Yokohama, and Washington, D.C.

He is a recipient of the 2006 EY Entrepreneur of the YearTM Award in the Energy Category for the New England Region of the USA and currently serves on several national and bilateral hydrogen and energy transition committees in the MENA region.

Avance Labs is spearheading the development of a universal energy attribute certification and tracking scheme for hydrogen and hydrogen derivative fuels and products to be accredited by the I-REC Standard Foundation, enabled by data science and the Internet of things (IoT).

Ilyas Gülenç became the "European Climate Pact Ambassador" in 2021. He also completed courses on carbon accounting, emission trading systems, and financial sustainability. In 2022, he co-founded "Yesil Buyume" to create content on the European Green Deal and sustainability. Gülenç is highly proficient in English and has published articles on these topics in both Turkish and English.

Berat Z. Haznedaroglu is an assistant professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences at Bogazici University in Istanbul. Berat’s research group focuses on understanding the fundamental biochemistry of algal species by coupling with high-throughput systems biology tools including next-generation DNA sequencing, metabolomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics. His group develops algae biotechnology for nutritional supplements, biofuels, value-added chemicals, and wastewater treatment applications. Very recently, he has been awarded with Newton Advanced Fellowship from Royal Society of UK and also granted to construct the first carbon-negative biorefinery of Europe to develop algae-based bioproducts for Food:Energy:Water nexus by the European Commission and Turkish Ministry of Industry and Technology.

Berat completed his postdoc at Yale and received his Ph.D. from the Chemical and Environmental Engineering Department of University of California, Riverside. His M.Sc. is from Villanova University. Her work has been focusing on International Renewable Energy Certificates and Guarantees of Origin for the past three years, as she has always been interested in the evolving renewables energy market. Before joining S&P Global Commodity Insights, Vittoria has deepened her knowledge in the commodities market at Bank of China International, and has gained experience in entrepreneurship and strategy consulting at Sage. Vittoria holds an MSc in Political Science from the London School of Economics and Political Science and a BA from University College London.

Muzaffer Taviloğlu, who has been working at Balsu Food since 2012, currently holds the position of Vice President. With a degree in Business from Sabancı University, Muzaffer Taviloğlu specializes in export, supply chain, and strategic planning.

Additionally, he contributes to the growth of his industry as the President of the Istanbul Hazelnut and Products Exporters' Association (İFMİD, IIB - Istanbul Exporters' Associations), the Ambassador of the International Nut and Dried Fruit Council in Turkey, a member of the Turkish Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK), Southeast Europe Council, German Business Council, and as the Founder of the Agri Business Alliance (GAA).

Saim Hacıağaoğlu has been working as the Deputy General Manager of Pomega Energy Storage Technologies since 2022 and before Pomega Energy Storage Technologies he took part in companies such Baran Elektrik Mühendislik, KKG Group, Alce Elektrik, ABB Elektrik ve Siemens his career. He is a graduate of Yıldız Technical University, Department of Electrical Engineering, and has held various senior positions in the Sales departments of companies throughout his career.

Following his education at the Deutsche Schule Istanbul, Ahmet Bilge Anbarlılar graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Industrial Engineering. He further pursued his education by obtaining an MBA in Supply Chain Management and Marketing from Michigan State University.Between 2000 and 2004, he worked as a Senior Product Manager in the Innovation Marketing department at FedEx in the United States. From 2004 to 2013 and from 2017 to today, he has been a Board Member and Senior Executive at Balsu Gıda. Between 2005 and 2017, he served as a Board Member and Vice President of the Istanbul Exporters' Association. Until 2019, he served as a Board Observer of the International Treenut Council (INC), based in Reus, Spain, and he continues his role as a member of the Hazelnut Statistics Committee.Between 2013 and 2016, he held the position of Turkey Operations Director at TPG Growth, a San Francisco-based investment fund. As of 2018, he is a member of the Executive Board and continues to serve as the President of the DEIK Chile Business Council as of 2022. He remains an Honorary Board Member of the Turkish Fencing Federation and a congress member of Fenerbahçe Sports Club.

He got his B.Sc. Degree from İstanbul Technical University, Department of Metallurgical Engineering in 1994. He completed his Executive MBA at Sabancı University in 2004. Working within Çimsa since 09.09.2019, he is currently working as the Operations Vice President.

Efe Erdem has been the Executive Director of MEXT Technology Center at MESS (Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries) since December 2018. He led the establishment of the Technology Center from the concept phase to operationalization. The Center focuses on the digital and green transformation of the industry by providing companies with a comprehensive upskilling program, technical advisory services, access to a state-of-the-art Digital Factory, and an extensive ecosystem of partners, including technology companies, universities, and startups.

Furthermore, he currently leads the 'New Generation Industry' Working Group at TÜSİAD (Turkish Industry & Business Association). Before this role, he was the Head of Innovation at Ford Otosan, leading all company initiatives related to corporate entrepreneurship and open innovation. In that capacity, he was also a member of the company's Executive Committee. Previously, he held various roles in Product Development, such as Commercial Vehicles Program Management and Powertrain Systems Integration in Turkey and the UK, as well as Manufacturing Engineering. He graduated from the Industrial Engineering Department of Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, and holds a Master's degree in Management Sciences from the London School of Economics (LSE).

Ayşegül Eroğlu, born in 1986, completed her high school education at Robert College. She graduated from Sabancı University with a degree in Production Systems Engineering and later completed the Executive MBA program at Boğaziçi University.

She began her career at Unilever in the supply chain department during her early years in the workforce. In 2010, she continued her professional journey at HSK company, where she has been working since. Following the merger of Systemair and HSK in 2012, Eroğlu was appointed as a factory manager. Currently, she holds the position of Deputy General Manager of Systemair Turkey. Additionally, since 2020, she has been serving as a board member of RVM Systems, a company that develops, manufactures, installs, and maintains "Deposit Return Machine" solutions for retail stores and other participating locations.

Furthermore, Ayşegül Eroğlu actively participates in the leading non-profit organizations in the climate control sector, including ISKAV (Heating, Cooling, Air Conditioning Research and Education Foundation). She is also a board member of EYODER (Energy Efficiency and Management Association) and a member of GYİAD (Young Executives and Businesspeople Association). Since 2022, she has been a member of the Kocaeli Chamber of Industry's council.

Hasan Akbulut, born in Çankırı in 1966, is a married father of two, with professional experience in various roles in the metallurgy and steel industry. They have held positions ranging from Operations Engineer to Deputy General Manager of Operations at notable companies like Erdemir T.A.Ş. and KÜMAŞ Manyezit A.Ş. Currently, he serves as the Technical Affairs Director at the Turkish Steel Producers Association and is fluent in English.

Ayça Arınan, holds undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Chemical Engineering from Middle East Technical University, has been continuing her career at Tüpraş for the past 13 years. She initially started as a Process and R&D Engineer at Tüpraş and now serves as the Director of Strategy and Business Development at the same company. With extensive knowledge in the petroleum and gas sector, she leads the Biofuel Team as part of Tüpraş's 2050 Strategic Transformation Plan.

Assoc. Prof. Abdulkadir BEKTAŞ, completed his primary, secondary, and high school education in his hometown, İzmir. He completed his university education at İhsan Doğramacı Bilkent University, Department of Industrial Engineering with a scholarship. After completing his master's degree at Gazi University, Department of Industrial Engineering, he completed his doctorate in the same university with a major in Energy Systems Engineering Department. He received the title of Associate Professor in the field of "Energy Systems Engineering" by the Interuniversities Board on February 28, 2023. He worked as Project Manager and Total Quality Manager at Aycell Communications and Marketing Company, Strategy and Planning Manager at Kaya Telekom A.Ş., ERP System Manager, and Assistant General Manager at Comtech Telekomünikasyon A.Ş. During his public service, which started at the Turkish Statistical Institute in January 2006, he worked as a TUIK Expert, Industry Department Team Manager, Environmental Accounts Group Officer, and Environment and Climate Department at the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. As of January 14, 2022, he took office as the Vice President of the Climate Change Department. BEKTAŞ, who has many scientific articles and papers published in national and international fields on renewable energy, environment, and climate change, teaches as a part-time guest lecturer at the Turkish Aeronautical Association and Gazi Universities. He has been working as a Senior Expert (ERT) in the Agriculture and Energy Sectors of the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat (UNFCCC) since 2014. His main areas of expertise include national greenhouse gas inventories, climate change, climate change negotiations, climate policy analysis, strategic project planning, and energy efficiency.

Magnus Boman, who has been serving as the Managing Director of Volvo Car Turkey since 2020, has held various positions in many countries throughout his 29-year career with Volvo Cars. With a wealth of global experience, Boman, who is originally from Sweden, began his career at Volvo Cars in 1994 and worked in various areas such as Sales Planning and Distribution, Product, Marketing and Sales Management. Prior to his assignment in Turkey, he served as the Managing Director of Volvo Car Denmark for 7 years, and before that, he held the position of Director of Sales Operations for Western Europe based in Gothenburg. Additionally, during his career at Volvo Cars, he held various managerial positions in Asia for 10 years, including roles in Singapore, Japan and Malaysia. Born in 1960, Magnus Boman is married and a father of three children.

Dr. Michael Tsang is the Chief of Life-Cycle Assessment at Avance Labs, where he oversees the development of methodologies related to tracking and certifying carbon and other sustainability attributes for their inclusion into Avance's I-REC Product Code for Hydrogen and Hydrogen Derivatives. Michael is also the founder of Three Pillars Consulting, which is the accredited local issuer of I-RECs in Oman. He has also held previous positions with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, D.C. as well as holding a contract-consultant role with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in the Environmental Research Division.

Volkan Yiğit has been working in the energy market for over 10 years, focusing on strategy development, market analysis, energy transformation, and electricity price and power plant revenue forecasting. In the early years of his career, Yiğit worked in project management in the construction sector. Between 2012 and 2014, he worked in the Turkish office of the German energy company RWE, specializing in strategy and market analysis. Since 2015, Yiğit has been working at APLUS Enerji, where he was appointed as a partner in 2019 and has led consultancy projects. He has been involved in financing, re-financing, and sales (M&A) projects for significant energy production portfolios in the country. Yiğit has also served as a consultant in projects with the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, EPİAŞ, and EÜAŞ. Yiğit holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Yıldız Technical University and a master's degree in Energy Science and Technology from Istanbul Technical University. Building experience in project management at the beginning of his career, Yiğit earned the CAPM certification from the Project Management Institute in 2009 and the PMP certification in 2013.
